The Position

We're currently recruiting a Senior Commercial Project Manager who will spearhead Yurika's newest and most exciting BESS/Hydrogen project to date!
This is a two year fixed term position, located in any major centre (Queensland) and is accountable to the Project Director.
This is a Professional & Managerial Grade Three level position with salaries starting from $186k + 12.75% super.

About You

You are experienced in the delivery of multi-discipline complex infrastructure construction projects with a background in an engineering design, build & commission operating environment with scope greater than $100 million. You have a proven background in the delivery of civil & electrical HV infrastructure integrating pre-contracts, procurement, design, construction, test & commissioning from inception to practical completion in a contracting environment. You have detailed knowledge of Critical Path Management, Earned Value Management, advanced resource allocation, project baseline comparisons and project reporting. You have demonstrated commercial / industry experience managing large infrastructure fixed price contracted projects in the contestable market nationally with firm contractual terms and conditions with liquidated damages.
You have demonstrated experience managing project risk by 'back-to-back' the Terms and Conditions to the head contract. You have a demonstrated commitment to improvements in safety performance, environmental performance, WH&S, quality and legal compliance.

The Role

The Senior Commercial Project Manager is accountable for the successful project management and delivery of designated client projects in conformance with contractual obligations and relevant methodologies and systems. Projects are commercially focussed and will span all states, will enable achievement of EBIT targets, and account for future growth of the unregulated infrastructure & utility products and services provided.

Some of the accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Strong HSEQ focus and leadership capability demonstrated by high levels of team passion and commitment for delivery, and achieving strong results in areas of commercial performance and customer satisfaction.
Ensure a culture of "Safety First" and protection of the environment in accordance with corporate standards and operational legislative compliance.
Be accountable for the successful delivery of assigned projects, including development and management of a project schedule with relevant milestones, deliverables and dependencies as identified in the client contract
Be accountable for the development/selection of the key members of the project team to successfully deliver assigned projects and foster a continuous improvement, productive and efficient culture with multi-functional and nationally dispersed resource groups.
Provide expert project management and commercial direction that ensures that Yurika's legal, commercial and financial requirements for contracted projects are met or exceeded.
Provide timely reports on project performance against the Project Plan to management and project stakeholders
Provide and comply with all contractual reporting, invoicing, variation (cost and time) management to Yurika Management and the client as per contracted conditions
Provide extensive contract knowledge to ensure that Yurika is not adversely exposed to contract compliance or additional risk during bids and project delivery
Ensure compliance with WH&S, Energy Queensland safety systems and promote a safe working culture in the Engineering & Project Delivery Team. This will include incorporating safe working practices into work procedures and the on-going management of risk assessments, safety training and audits.
Have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of client WHSE requirements and successfully integrate Energy Queensland's safe systems to ensure compliance during project delivery
Ensure project management functions and processes are established to "Industry Best Practice" level through effective implementation, measures, auditing and benchmarking of project management.
Provide expert project management, commercial and related advice to Yurika or contracted staff to ensure that assigned projects are commercially, legally and financially compliant.
Pro-actively manage project risk and perform project risk reviews to identify issues that will affect project outcomes and develop risk management plans to mitigate the risk. Communicate risk profile to senior management.
Manage assigned projects from project initiation to completion in accordance with Yurika business objectives, corporate policies, standards and departmental procedures. Specifically, the management of unregulated fixed priced projects under contractual arrangements.

Essentials
Degree qualifications in Project Management, Business Management, Engineering or equivalent qualifications
C Class driver's licence
Experience on HV Infrastructure projects > $100m

Desirable
Experience delivering transmission substations or BESS project in a commercial environment.
Experience working for Principal Contractor and EPCs greater than $100M in direct value.
Degree qualified Electrical Engineer
