An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Commercial Lawyer who will be responsible for the provision of high-level legal advice to the Board, Executive and Senior Officers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, specifically related to legal risk management, commercial law, contract management and corporate governance matters. The Senior Commercial Lawyer will provide day to day oversight relating to key contractual and commercial law issues for Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north. We respect, protect and promote human rights in our decision-making and actions.Key Responsibilities include:Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service core values, as outlined on page 1 but with due regard to your ethical responsibilities and in acknowledgment that your duty to the Court is paramount and overrides any duty to your clients.Provide high level legal advice on a wide range of complex and sensitive commercial matters relevant to a public health service, including legal risk management, commercial law, contractual and corporate governance matters.In consultation with the Contracts and Procurement Unit, develop appropriate documents for specific procurement activity, including tender documents, tender terms and conditions and contracts for the provision of a range of goods and services.Prepare and review legal commercial agreements between Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and other third parties, including but not limited to agreements with private companies, universities, and other research institutions.Remuneration value up to $166 569 p.a., comprising salary between $136 035 - $145 990 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (PO5).
