Senior Client Relationship Officer Location – Dubbo (in office) Employment type – Temporary Full-time opportunity until 30 June 2025 Salary – Clerk Grade 7/8, $106,025 - $117,363 per annum plus employer's contribution to superannuation This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only. About Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is a statutory body established under the Aboriginal Housing Act 1998 (NSW) to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have access to affordable, quality housing.
The AHO is governed by an all-Aboriginal Board, which provides advice to the Minister for Water and Minister for Housing in NSW.
In addition, the AHO manages and coordinates an annual capital works program, along with developing and implementing financial and resourcing strategies.
Your role Develop active and collaborative working partnerships with Aboriginal Community Housing Providers (ACHP), community leaders, key government stakeholders, NGOs and Aboriginal clients to deliver housing and housing related assistance to clients through approved services and programs.
What you'll do Lead client issue and inquiry resolution process from inception to completion to ensure timely completion within service standards. Collaborate with housing providers in relation to key client based strategic programs.
Manage client outcomes in relation to property transfers. Act as the local AHO representative and partner in the region building effective working relationships with Aboriginal Housing Providers, community leaders and clients to better meet client needs and develop partnerships that support individual, family and household outcomes and community building. Contribute to business and performance planning at the regional level and plan activities and projects to ensure the team meets broader planning and service commitments.
Complete work plans, activity tracking and measurements of work schedule completion. Make recommendations based on subject matter expertise on service delivery gaps and risks that inform sound policy and informed decision making. Promote and participate in community building programs and whole of government initiatives to strengthen communities and enhance opportunities for community participation. Work collaboratively with other service delivery teams and DPIE colleagues to enhance access, effectiveness and quality of service delivery, client outcomes and co-ordinated case management.
Provide direct support to client and assets staff. What we're looking for Relevant qualifications and/or experience and skills relating to social housing. Drivers licence, this role requires travelling to remote/rural areas. The ideal candidate will be customer service focused and driven to providing the best possible client outcomes. This is an Identified role under the Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 and as such Aboriginality is an essential requirement of the role. Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal cultural beliefs and attitudes and of the socio-economic position of Aboriginal people within Australian society, and of their impacts in relation to housing. Appointments are subject to reference checks.
Some roles may also require the following checks/clearances: National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014. Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012. As an Identified role, this position is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, Australia's First Nations people. Where a position is identified, an applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification under the exception in Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
