SEE Civil (SEE Group's civil construction business) has had impressive growth within their Mining & Resources Infrastructure Division, working for some of Australia's largest mining companies on projects in Far North and Central Queensland, Northern Territory, and Central NSW, with a projected pipeline of works forecast to expand into the Renewables, and Clean Energy sectors. To facilitate this strong growth, we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Estimator to join our team in the Helensvale office on the Gold Coast.
About the Role
As our Senior Civil Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in pricing and evaluating a diverse portfolio of mining and resources infrastructure tenders. You will be at the forefront of estimating for a range of projects, including:
Large Bulk Earthworks projects with complex mass hauls Water Storage Dam and Tailings Dam construction Bridges, Bebo Arch, and major concrete structures Water Pipelines and large Drainage structures Wind Farm earthworks and concrete footings Heavy Vehicle Haul Road construction Light Vehicle Road construction DTMR and TfNSW highway and local road upgrades Rehabilitation, clearing, and stripping projects Key Requirements
To excel in this role, you will need:
Extensive experience in Mining Infrastructure or large Civil Construction projects Solid background in bulk earthworks, mass hauls, and a detailed understanding of the production limits of large earthworks plant including 793 Trucks, 360t Excavators, 657 Scrapers, and D11 Dozers Understanding of FIFO and DIDO projects with complex logistics arrangements Ability to write large bulk earthworks, roadworks, and pipeline methodologies Strong background in first principles estimating Capability in developing and evaluating subcontractor packages Knowledge of DTMR or TfNSW Specifications is desirable Ability to plan and schedule using MS Project, Primavera P6 or similar tools Experience with Expert Estimating software is desirable Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Reviewing tender documentation and addressing queries to the client Attend client meetings with the ability for short term travel interstate Building up tender prices from first principles based on scope of works, plans, specifications, and schedules Participating in pre-and post-tender reviews and client meetings Producing comprehensive tender reports in preparation for tender handover What's next?
