Our statewide ITS & Electrical Maintenance & Delivery team provides essential support and maintenance for Intelligent Transport Systems and Electrical (ITS&E) infrastructure assets across Queensland's state-controlled roads. Team responsibilities include on-the-ground work and contract oversight, local asset planning, and management of maintenance projects. The team also oversees the commissioning and handover of new ITS assets while addressing public enquiries and managing regional ITS applications and networks.
THE ROLE: Key responsibilities: Play a crucial role in multi-disciplinary project teams, providing your technical expertise to ensure the successful delivery of ITS&E transport infrastructure projects. Offer your valuable technical advice to designers, contractors, and project managers to develop scopes and design briefs for traffic systems, road lighting, and technological integrations on our roads. Prepare and deliver high-quality professional and technical advice, submissions and plans related to ITS&E projects and road network solutions. Uphold, apply and maintain all relevant standards, policies and legislative requirements necessary for responsible decision-making in the design of road infrastructure. Mentor and supervise non-RPEQ team members, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages effective teamwork and aligns with our organisation's goals.
ABOUT YOU: Our ideal candidate will have: Demonstrated experience in ITS&E infrastructure maintenance and delivery practices and construction contracts. Strong analytical and technical abilities, driving efficiency in systems and technology, and enhancing decision-making and risk management. Accountability in delivering quality results and contributing to the development of team objectives. Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for explaining complex issues and devising and promoting innovative solutions to various audiences. A proactive approach to cultivating long-term working relationships with partners both inside and outside the department, fostering collaboration and influential networks. MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND CONDITIONS: A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent which is accepted by Engineers Australia. Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ). Current C class driver's license. Travel within SEQ may be a requirement of the role. Criminal history screening will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
