This recruitment process will be used to generate a suitability pool for temporary backfill opportunities over the next 12 months at the Gladstone District Office. Community Corrections is devoted to delivering evidence-informed case management and individualised support to people in the community under a variety of supervision orders imposed by the courts and Parole Board Queensland, with an aim to protect the community and reduce reoffending by providing tailored supervision to meet the individual risks and needs of supervised individuals.

The Rural and Remote Senior Case Manager is responsible for consulting with relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations to assist in closing the gap of Indigenous over-representation within the criminal justice system.

The Senior Case Manager ensures a high level of community safety through the case management of offenders in accordance with their assessed risk and need and maintains high standards of offender assessment practices that facilitate effective supervision and improve reintegration and rehabilitation of high-risk sexual and violent offenders.
The essential requirements for this role are:
Able to demonstrate experience working within a legislative framework that underpins a core service delivery area. Able to work self-sufficiently and be confident in your own professional discretion, reasoning, judgement and decision-making skills prior to seeking management validation. Able to demonstrate previous experiences of fostering a new relationship and receiving positive reinforcement in return to demonstrate the relationship was well developed. Communicate professionally and engage with respect with colleagues, offenders, management and stakeholders. Experience in working collaboratively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to embrace diversity and maximise the whole range of skills and differences available within the workforce. Individuals employed on a permanent or temporary basis will be required to complete Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Community). All activities and assessments associated with the Certificate IV are to be completed within 12 months of commencing employment, and certification achieved within 18 months. Travel on official business will occur in this position and the possession of a C class licence is required and will be mandatory in specific locations where it is identified as essential by the hiring panel. Travel and accommodation may be provided where required, and allowances will apply as negotiated in accordance with the Domestic Travelling and Relieving Expenses (Directive 13/23).
