Senior Business Analyst (IT Business Partner)Apply now Job no: 499411Work type: Temporary Full TimeClassification: Band 8 ($115,035 - $127,911 pa)Categories: Information TechnologyAbout the roleIn this role, you will lead our IT PMO team's implementation of a new, hybrid IT strategy that blends agile and waterfall methodologies.
You will lead extensive stakeholder communication and engagement activities as a Business Partner and ambassador for IT and champion the Enterprise IT Strategy across the organisation.
Influence and develop detailed system requirements that are product aligned to our core strategic applications.Key responsibilities include:Developing, implementing, and ensuring best practice processes for conducting business analysis activities for complex projects.Identifying and documenting functional and non-functional business requirements in a concise, accurate, unambiguous, and timely manner.Providing strategic business analysis services, working closely with departments, and undertaking enterprise analysis activities to help inform program decisions.Leading and coordinating the activities and efforts of business analysts across multiple projects within the program.Mentoring and coaching internal business analysts and stakeholders on best practices and to achieve agreed requirements in collaboration with managers.Facilitating communication between the relevant departments, technology teams and support teams to ensure that business solutions are aligned with business objectives.Supporting the Project Manager(s) through all phases of the project lifecycle, contributing to risk management identification and issues management.Assisting in Agile principles and practices, facilitating the transition from traditional to Agile methodologies.Mapping current value streams to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and optimise the flow of value to the customer.Ensuring that user stories are clearly defined and ready for the development team.Developing Test Strategy and Test Plans in collaboration with project manager(s).Supervising and guiding the development of Test Cases, providing support and guidance to the testers throughout the testing lifecycle.Supporting the Project Manager in identifying and scoping of change requests in conjunction with the key stakeholder.Supporting the Go Live and post go live support activities as required.About youTo be successful in this role you will have working knowledge of Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK), Agile and Prince2 project management methodology.Business Analyst qualification and / or extensive experience in a Senior Business Analyst or Business Partnership role.Strong understanding of Agile principles and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.Ability to work with Agile project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).Skills in value stream mapping and the ability to visualise and optimise end-to-end processes.Demonstrated ability to implement best practice business analysis processes and build resource capability.Experience on high profile projects with multiple enterprise wide integrated and inter-related systems.Extensive experience identifying and documenting both business and system requirements on major ICT projects.Experience in business process redesign/re-engineering and implementation.Sound understanding of contemporary change management processes pertaining to complex ICT projects.Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills in an ICT environment working with complex and/or challenging internal and external stakeholders.Ability to work effectively and influence across all levels of an organisation, including high level written and verbal communication skills.Effective people leadership and teamwork skills to support an environment for high-functioning, productive and engaged teams to operate.Experience working with modern data analytical tools.Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).If this sounds like the role for you, then click apply now!Child Safety ResponsibilitiesWe are committed to being a child-safe organisation and have zero-tolerance for child abuse.
