What you'd be doing in this role As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve. At the moment, this role is focused on: We need a talented, motivated, and enthusiastic Senior engineer to join our team. You will be involved in implementing new features, addressing technical debt, identifying and suggesting possible improvements, as well as reviewing and influencing a wide range of feature designs and implementations across Canva. You will own the code for the entire lifecycle, from design, implementation, monitoring and support. We build it, ship it, run it and support it. You're probably a match if You are a Senior team player who is highly motivated, enthusiastic, and curious. You are a great problem solver with excellent collaboration and communication skills You have a strong coding proficiency in Java. Experience withAWS and Redis is a bonus. Firmly grounded computer science and engineering fundamentals including concurrency, multithreading, data structures, solution design, architecture, and design patterns. Good to have previous experience in working with streaming services About the team The Ripple team manages all the simultaneous collaborative editing for Canva. Ripple is a layer that sits between the Editor in the browser and the Document persistence layer. It receives, validates, resolves conflicts, merges, and pushes out state changes to users, allowing real time collaborative editing of a design. Ripple service serves more than 10 million user editing sessions per day. What's in it for you?
