Who we are: In partnership with internal and external stakeholders, the Compliance & Enforcement Division monitors and assesses risk to enhance compliance through effective regulatory intervention, ranging from education to enforcement which ultimately safeguards our economy, trade, environment, and agriculture.
The Audit and Assurance Branch assesses and improves compliance through the delivery of regulatory audit and assurance activities. The branch supports and contributes to the broader department's compliance policy in developing and delivering a risk-based approach to regulation.
The Job: Responsibilities include the conduct of a range of audit activities to manage biosecurity, imported food, export, illegal logging, and other regulatory risks. As a Senior Auditor, your duties may include, but are not limited to:
Undertaking audits across commodities and functions against the relevant criteria to build strong industry compliance.
Operating within the parameters of the Auditor Management Framework and managing, coaching, and mentoring other auditors who operate under this framework. Providing technical input and support to management and other colleagues as required.
Traveling overseas, interstate, or intrastate as needed, while maintaining all audit competencies and other training requirements to audit a range of commodities, including high-risk or complex functions.

Knowledge and Experience:
Knowledge related to import and/or exports or agricultural industries.
Mandatory Qualifications: The successful candidates will need to obtain a Lead Food Safety Auditor or Lead Quality Auditor qualification within the 6-month probationary period. This course is provided by the employer as part of induction. If you have current Food Safety or Lead Auditor qualifications, please include details in your application.
