Senior Associate - Trade Finance Operations
Do Work That Matters. You will join CommBank's Trade Finance Operations team sitting within our Global Trade Operations function within our Chief Operating Office (COO). The Trade Operations team operate in a middle-office environment and are focused on the delivery and settlement of Trade Finance transactions, across Import/Export and Trade Loans.
The team also provides operational management, monitoring of financial transactions and ensuring clear correspondence to our valued customers spanning in size and complexity across Business Banking to our Institutional Bank & Markets (IB&M) clients.
The Role. As a Senior Associate within the Trade Finance Operations team, you will help manage the end-to-end delivery of Trade Finance transactions across the Group while partnering with Trade Sales Specialists and product specialists to ensure growth and delivery of service to our clients on their trade finance needs.
You will be focused on Trade Finance funding and Trade Export documentation as well as Letters of Credit/LC's and collection documents.
You will monitor, analyze and review physical trade documentation and transactions against regulatory Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorism Financing (CTF) policies while ensuring each transaction meets the Bank's and regulators' risk appetite before releasing it.
On any given day you will:
Transaction processing of traditional and structured trade finance products
Facility implementation for traditional and structured trade finance products
Assist with client account management in maintaining and growing our client base
Support Relationship Managers and Trade Sales Specialists
Comply with Bank policies, controls and frameworks, reporting any issues affecting the team to management and complying with all escalation protocols to minimize risk
Daily interaction with CBA's trade processing business partners

You will have previous experience in roles requiring high attention to detail or investigative outcomes and will be able to demonstrate critical and lateral thinking in order to communicate complex situations clearly to find solutions for our customers.
Well-developed stakeholder management skills, skilled at building and maintaining professional relationships
Demonstrable experience showcasing high degree of accuracy to your role, ensuring we can get it right the first time for our customers.
Have a solid understanding of risk management covering either operational risk, compliance, credit risk, sovereign risk, market risk
Knowledge on the global trade environment and domestic trade industry is desirable
Contribute to improving client service by improving processes and reducing errors
