It can be full-time, or part-time initially with the willingness and availability to progress to full-time.What can you expect from this position?Working only with EmployersWorking on interesting and challenging mattersProviding practical strategic advice to clients across all facets of employment law including performance management, termination, redundancies, workplace bullying, sexual harassment, workplace health and safety, managing injured employees, preparing employment contracts and workplace policies, and negotiating / drafting enterprise agreementsDefending clients in litigation matters such as unfair dismissal, general protection, discrimination and underpayment claimsUndertaking workplace investigations for clientsManaging your own matters under supervision and working directly with clients to deliver excellence and build strong ongoing relationshipsWorking with businesses of varying sizes, from small family businesses to large private corporations across all industries, as well as working with State and Local Government bodiesInvolvement in business development opportunities, including presenting seminars, webinars, writing articles, attending networking events and working closely with our Client Relationship & Marketing Manager to develop a strong brand within the industryWorking with a supportive and collaborative team of lawyers and support staff, many of whom have 10+ years' service with the firm, because of our great culture.To be successful in the role, you will need to have:5+ years' experience working in employment law with employers in AustraliaA genuine passion for employment law and for being a true specialist in this area of lawA strong work ethic and excellent time management and communication skillsA proactive approach to delivering practical solutions to solve complex legal issues within client time framesThe knowledge/experience to provide sound advice to clients in meetings or telephone conferencesStrong interpersonal and leadership skills and the enthusiasm/willingness to provide mentoring to junior lawyersStrong networking and business development skills to build a strong client baseA desire to always deliver excellence to our clientsThe following would be beneficial for the role:Experience working with public sector clients, in particular Queensland Government and Local GovernmentBeing an Accredited Specialist in Workplace Relations LawDiversity and InclusionAitken Legal hires a diverse workforce and our workplace policies and values foster a safe and inclusive workplace.About Aitken LegalWe are a boutique employment law firm and are leaders in Employment Law specialising in only advising Employers.
