Senior Associate - Professional IndemnityGeneral Insurance | Sydney

This role will work on professional indemnity matters (particularly broker, architect and engineer claims).
You will be responsible for and have carriage of your own files and work closely with our supportive and industry leading partners.
Our Sydney team has approximately 55 people and is part of our National General Insurance practice, which has over 200 people.
Our clients include major domestic insurers as well as Lloyds of London Syndicates.
Key responsibilities You will be responsible for:
Advising insurers in relation to policy coverage and indemnity disputes, including property, ISR and professional indemnity policies;Handling both advisory and litigated files;Drafting client advices;Drafting letters of instruction to experts;Review of documents and preparation of evidence;Drafting correspondence to the Court and third parties;Conference with witnesses and prepare witness statements;Preparing briefs for counsel;Drafting Court documents and attendance at Court;Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and paralegals.Skills and experience We are keen to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
4+ years of post-admission experience, ideally within an insurance law practice;Experience in professional indemnity;Clear, concise legal writing skills;The ability to work autonomously;Motivated and eager to build a career in the insurance industry;The ability and desire to supervise and mentor junior lawyers.About us Hall & Wilcox is a leading independent Australian law firm.
