About the role and team We have a new opportunity for an experienced real estate lawyer with 5+ years of post-admission experience to join our national Property & Projects practice, to be based in Perth.
Our Property & Projects Section has over 95 team members nationally working across a diverse practice, including property, projects, environment and planning. With a varied client base across both the public and private sector, our national practice is a leader in real estate works for local government and has an emerging reputation in state and federal jurisdictions. We also work across all market sectors, with a focus on commercial and capital transactions for private sector clients.
Key responsibilities The successful candidate will work on real estate projects across all states of Australia, and will be involved in matters alongside industry leading partners and senior lawyers, including:
sales and acquisitions; land development; commercial and retail leasing, including managing national property portfolios; tenancies (covering both land and tenant focused work), including bespoke tenancies of public land for public sector clients; land titles and land use, including easements; compulsory acquisitions, including advisors work and section 30 agreements; planning agreements for developers and public sector clients; procurement and governance for public sector clients. Skills and experience We are keen to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
5+ years of post-admission experience in property law; excellent technical and drafting skills; significant experience across general real estate law matters, ideally gained from a highly regarded property law practice; commercial acumen and a client service focus; demonstrated experience in mentoring and supervising junior lawyers; strong analytical, legal research and drafting skills.
