Our collaborative team plays a vital role, influencing a wide range of stakeholders, from the Board and Investment Committee to Sector teams.
ECM has three pillars:
Strategic Themes – the long-term drivers of economic and financial market outcomes.Cyclical Macro – understanding cyclical fluctuations in the global and regional economies and policy responses.Capital Markets – understanding what is priced into various asset markets and the implications for portfolio positioning.This role works across all three pillars and offers a remarkable opportunity to gain invaluable experience and develop a deep understanding of economics, encompassing both short and long-term perspectives. You will also immerse yourself in the range of asset classes that the Future Fund invests in and engage in whole of portfolio management. The Future Fund has unparalleled access to some of the world's leading thinkers in economics, policy making and financial markets. Key Responsibilities The role has a good blend of short-term tasks and longer-term research work including:
The monitoring of daily developments in economics and policy, analysing their impact on financial markets.Contribute to the development of economic scenarios.Creating and designing a variety of economic models.Developing a range of asset pricing models.Collaborating with Asset class teams on asset class assumptions.Contributing to discussions on portfolio settings.About You We're looking for someone who has a sound understanding of economic fundamentals, capable of identifying important trends and developments for financial markets, and adept at translating that work into practical portfolio solutions.
Our ideal candidate will have a well-rounded skill set, encompassing both quantitative and qualitative abilities. They should be passionate about a career in funds management, analytically rigorous, have a wide-ranging reading habit, show curiosity, constantly challenge their own viewpoints, a natural communicator and thrive working in a team-based environment.
While a tertiary qualification is mandatory for this role, postgraduate qualifications and/or CFA designation (or studying towards) will be viewed positively, although not essential. We also welcome candidates with studies in international relations and related disciplines.
