The Role
We are currently looking for a Senior Associate with 5+ years PAE to join our Corporate team in Sydney. This position will work closely with experienced and respected Partners, who specialise in:
M&A transactions; Equity & debt capital markets; Joint ventures; Corporate governance; Restructures; General commercial and corporate contracts. Our ideal candidate will need to
Have solid experience and exposure to M&A transactions as well as a strong background in Corporate Advisory / Mergers & Acquisitions with a mid-market focus preferably, through experience gained in mid to top-tier firms; Have the ability and desire to pro-actively manage M&A transactions with a high level of autonomy; Be able to work collaboratively in a team, including delegating to and assisting with the development of junior lawyers in the team and engaging with other specialist practice areas within the firm; Have solid experience with legal due diligence including drafting due diligence reports; Experience with reviewing and drafting contracts; Possess a willingness to have a hands-on approach as a client-focused practitioner, with great relationship-building and communication skills; Possess a willingness and ability to understand clients' commercial needs and objectives and provide solutions to achieve these; Provide sound, pragmatic and innovative legal advice to the firm's corporate clients; Good contract drafting skills, legal analysis and problem-solving skills to varied situations; Have excellent attention to detail, analytical skills which will be backed up by strong academics; A thirst to develop as this is a role that offers genuine career development.
