Senior Associate - Commercial LitigationWe are seeking a high performing insurance specialist Senior Associate to join our market leading Commercial Litigation team in Melbourne.This role provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to:Join a tier-one ranked policyholder's insurance practiceCollaborate and contribute to a high performing and impactful teamWork on major litigation and advisory matters for blue chip corporatesThe roleWorking as part of our market recognised policyholder's insurance practice within the Commercial Litigation team, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Melbourne team on a permanent basis. Working with Partner Sophy Woodward, you will join a high performing, supportive and down to earth team and enjoy working with prominent corporate clients across a variety of sectors. The work involves having carriage of insurance disputes and advisory work for policyholder clients.This role has a high level of client interaction and will see you managing client relationships, shaping the strategic direction of matters, working closely with counsel, drafting advices, preparing witness and expert evidence and having carriage of final and interlocutory proceedings. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a highly driven and successful team being recognised as an Asia Pacific Band 1 ranked practice in Insurance (Policyholder) and Insurer: Non-contentious, and Band 2 ranked Legal500 insurance practice.Skills & ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will have:Minimum 5 years PQE within an insurance practice, or within a broader commercial litigation practice but with an interest in insuranceDemonstrated experience in a range of litigious matters and management of insurance disputesStrong academic achievementsFamiliarity with Supreme/Federal Court litigationThe ability to project manage and drive matters through to completionA passion for mentoring, supervising and delegating work to more junior lawyersA strong focus on delivering exceptional client serviceHighly developed interpersonal and communication skills; required for building effective client relationships and contributing to a positive team environmentIn addition to this, we are looking for a dynamic operator who can contribute to the success of this practice, and who is seeking to develop their career under the expert guidance of leading litigation and insurance specialist Partners.How to Apply?We prefer to work directly with candidates; if you are interested in this role, please click the 'Apply' button or contact the consultant for more information.
