About this role
Our Financial Accounting Advisory practice is expanding, and we're looking for talented professionals to join our dynamic team. From cutting-edge financial reporting solutions to hands-on support during high-impact projects, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference for Australia's top businesses.
This opportunity is to join our dynamic and entrepreneurial CFO Advisory practice encompassing our financial accounting advisory; finance support; and sustainability reporting advisory services. As a member of the CFO Advisory team, you will assist clients with understanding how they should account for complex transactions, accounting and reporting matters; provide hands-on finance support to client's finance teams to assist them through peaks in workload; and assist clients with implementing the new Australian sustainability reporting standards.
Working directly with Partners and Directors, you will play a critical role in our growth by building strong client relationships, producing high quality deliverables and identifying potential target clients. You can expect a steep learning curve as you are exposed to senior client teams across our broad client base.
You will be skilled at balancing technical excellence, project management, and developing client relationships, and will be comfortable with change. Equally important are your positive 'can-do' attitude and strong client focus. You will be someone who likes to be one step ahead, friendly, hardworking and flexible with a positive attitude, providing exceptional service to the firm and our clients.
Key responsibilities
Attending financial accounting workshops with clients and then performing first level reviews of draft technical accounting analyses prepared by offshore specialists.
Attending sustainability reporting workshops with clients and then drafting reports to summarise the key findings based on standard GT templates.
Providing practical hands-on support to a client's finance team as they work through complex changes (e.g., finance transformations, acquisitions, divestments, IPO processes or restructures) through preparation of supporting workpapers e.g. consolidations, carveouts etc.
Assisting with project management of engagements including co-ordination of executive reviews and off-shore teams; assisting with client on-boarding processes; ensuring adherence to quality and risk management protocols; and assisting with WIP management and billing.
Developing strong internal and external networks with peers and clients.
Assisting with the preparation of proposals and general participation in business development initiatives.
Skills and experience
You will be motivated, organised and keen to make a contribution. This role will suit someone with the following skills, experience and attributes:
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent with 1-2 years post-qualification experience.
Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/AASB).
Background in professional services (audit/assurance) preferred.
An interest in financial and non-financial reporting.
Strong report writing and communication skills.
A proven ability to build strong client relationships.
