We are currently partnering with an innovative, commnity-focussed NSW Government Department in adding a Senior Legal Officer and Principal Legal Officer to their teams.
Based from St Leonards, these roles offer hybrid flexibility and ASAP start dates available!Principal Legal Officer role Temporary assignment for 6 months - possibility of extension Up to $971.15 per day + super Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week Based in St Leonards - work from home flexibility encouraged (hybrid model) ASAP start dates available Unique position that will see you working independently to provide recommendations and giving advice on how to refresh documents and compliance processes in the construction space Support with governance projects, honing on your general legal experience to guide and support stakeholders Take ownership of specific deliverables, reviewing consultancy templates, best practice templates, procurement document suites and risk profiles to identify areas of improvement Providing specialist, high level, timely and client focused legal advice (including drafting, reviewing and finalising transaction documents, namely consultant agreements and construction contracts and supporting the General Counsel / Director, senior executives and staff of Health Infrastructure to meet priority legal service needs.
Having conduct and carriage of matters, managing stakeholder relationships and driving timely, outcomes in line with Government objectives and timeframes.
Supervising, managing and mentoring junior lawyers.
Assisting with briefing the Board, executive and Audit & Risk Committee.
Conduct workshop, training and briefing sessions, and develop related materials, for internal and external consumption.
Briefing and managing external lawyers and counsel where appropriate, including ensuring the department's legal team is kept informed on a regular basis.
Bring a level of expertise in the construction or infrastructure space to become a subject-matter expert for the team and stakeholders Senior Legal Officer role Temporary assignment until end of January 2025 - possibility of extension Up to $788.54 per day + super Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week Based in St Leonards - work from home flexibility encouraged (hybrid model) ASAP start dates available Great opportunity to develop your skills and experience in the Government sector Duties very similar to those above with a more BAU-focus You will need: Both roles require substantial experience in a senior legal role Experience in the construction and property sectors are essential (Principal Legal Officer role must have Construction experience) Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders Up-to-date knowledge of best practice and law in the construction space Exposure to Government or governance processes would be beneficial For these roles, candidates must be happy to undergo a full police check If either (or both!)
