Sydney locationPermanent, full time Hybrid working environment, 3 days in office.How will I help? This is an exciting opportunity to work in Group Capital & Credit Provisioning Analytics team that provides oversight, insight in relation to explanation of credit metrics associated with capital calculations. The team makes sense of credit outputs by putting it in the right context and deep diving into underlying shifts. They're also tasked with articulating business problems and shaping analytics results into compelling stories. Though required to have coding and statistics experience, they should be able to present the idea to stakeholders through a commercial lens. You will also be responsible for ensuring a robust governance framework associated with calculation engines and reporting framework. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Deep dive into Exposure and Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) movements and explain variances with forecasts/movements across 2 points - be the bridge ("analytic translators") between modelling outputs and credit/business & finance.Ensure all Capital reporting & insight is delivered to a high quality, with robust governance and within the times frames set by the business and Westpac policy. Be across capital (Basel 3) and associated regulatory/accounting requirements. Drive ongoing change to ensure that all reporting/analytics remains fit for purpose in light of ongoing regulatory changesUnderstand compliance and data security obligations and ensure they are met.Provide expert knowledge and work with the Data Integration team to design and build dashboards/reports/papersWork with project stakeholders to ensure business objectives are well communicated and be part of writing business requirements and signing off business acceptance testingIdentify data requirement and work with Data team to develop data model. Excellent tertiary qualifications in a technical / quantitative discipline. Exposure to / understanding of regulatory and accounting requirements (APS 112, 113, 120).Comfortable in programming (SQL, SAS) and associated business reporting tools (Tableau/PowerBI).2+ years' experience within a credit quant or risk management team and continuous improvement focus.Financial markets knowledge and policy rollout experience is desirable.Preferable to have understanding of how capital/provisioning models work What is it like to work there?We aim to provide one big, supportive team to help us achieve our purpose of creating better futures together.
