We have an internationally recognised broad program of work, from identifying the roles of the future to tackling large, complex workforce challenges. The team is responsible for the development and implementation of programs and strategies to support the build of strategic workforce planning capability in the APS.We are a small, geographically dispersed team located across Australia who excel in hybrid working. The role will contribute to providing subject matter expertise across a broad range of matters related to strategic workforce design and management, and relevant expert policy advice, complex problem solving, and issues management for the APS, public sector, and other stakeholders. You will work with staff from diverse backgrounds, across the public service to tackle workforce challenges and contribute to collaborative solutions.As a Senior Advisor in the team you will play a critical role in supporting APS strategic workforce initiatives and providing hands-on support for agencies building their workforce planning capability. You will work as part of an engaged and high-achieving team providing subject matter expertise across a broad range of matters related to workforce planning.Responsibilities of the role include:Collaborate with stakeholders to understand workforce needs and challenges faced by APS agencies.Liaise and engage with stakeholders across the APS.Conduct workforce analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision making.Provide advice and recommendations on workforce planning and management.Design and implement long-term capability-based workforce plans.Please note this is a campaign to establish a merit pool for agencies to tap into over a 12-18 month period. The role/s applicants may be appointed are in the Centre of Excellence or in similar central workforce strategy/planning teams in APS departments and agencies over a 12-18 month period.Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS) or, in limited circumstances, in the process of obtaining citizenship.Successful applicants will be required to undergo the process to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold the required security clearance level for the role as indicated.
