The Senior Advisor, Strategy and Governance is a vital role within an outcome-focused team that drives exemplary strategic management, corporate governance, risk and audit management, and legal services to the QAS.

The role of Senior Advisor is responsible for providing high-level oversight and support to the unit's administrative, Right to Information, administrative access, and legal functions, and supports the Principal Advisors, Executive Managers, and Director. The position is also required to work in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders to drive best practice strategy, governance, and legal services, to assist the QAS in delivering better outcomes to the Queensland community.
We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes: Demonstrated high-level understanding of the workings of government and its administrative processes relevant to the provision of strategic governance and legal services, and the proven ability to interpret and comply with all relevant legislation, policies, and regulatory frameworks.Demonstrated high-level knowledge, understanding, and experience in the areas of right to information, information privacy, and broader legal services.Demonstrated well-developed communication, negotiation, consultation, and collaboration skills and the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with team members, senior stakeholders, and clients.Demonstrated highly developed ability to manage competing priorities and work independently within strict timeframes to drive the effective conduct of a varied program of work, and provide effective management advisory services relevant to a frontline service delivery agency.Well-developed conceptual, problem-solving, and analytical skills including the proven ability to analyse and interpret data to identify and escalate issues as required.The following mandatory requirements, special conditions, and/or other requirements apply to this role: Whilst not mandatory, possession of relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification/s will be highly regarded.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
