About the Role: The Senior Advisor, Strategic Projects, has responsibility for the processes, tasks and activities that support strategy and project implementation relevant to the portfolio of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research & Impact (DVC R&I). The role proactively contributes to the scoping, planning and implementation of the Portfolio's strategic projects on behalf of the DVC R&I and the portfolio leadership team.
The role will also be integral in providing oversight to the day-to-day operations of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor's Office in order to support the implementation of the University's Strategic Plan, 2022-2028 as well as the Research & Impact Plan, 2023-2028.
This is a full-time continuing position at a HEP 9 classification with the salary range being $124,066 - $129,080 per annum plus 17% superannuation contribution working 36.75 hours per week. Key Responsibilities: Strategy and Planning: Provide high level support for all activities associated with key strategic projects and programs.Strategic and Executive Support: Provide high quality and timely executive, project and advisory services on a range of strategic and operational matters.Planning and People: Contribute to building a people-centric culture in the portfolio.Financial and Resource Management: Commit to ongoing financial cost constraint and prudent use of resources.Social, Environmental and Financial Impact: Commit to sustainable practice and action in all that the university does and ensure that decisions align with our commitment to protecting people, place and planet.About the Person: The ideal candidate will possess:
Track record of project management in a complex and relevant environment and/or relevant postgraduate qualifications.Rich experience in strategic and operational planning with a commitment to continuous improvement.Exceptional internal and external stakeholder engagement experience that has delivered high quality outcomes.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and cross-cultural, negotiation and interpersonal skills.Astute analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to think creatively and boldly, act strategically, be flexible and agile in response to complex issues.Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with high volume workload, competing priorities and unexpected events, exercising judgement and taking action accordingly, and ensuring tasks are completed on time.What We Offer: VU strives to create a family friendly, diverse and inclusive workplace where all staff can succeed.
