Home to approximately 2000 Yarnangu (Ngaanyatjarra people) across 11 unique communities, our council is dedicated to preserving and celebrating our rich heritage spanning over 10,000 years and 250,000 square kilometres.
Established in 1981, the Ngaanyatjarra Council Group represents the interests of the Ngaanyatjarra People across the 11 communities in the Central Desert region of Western Australia. Employing in excess of 450 people, NCG provides a wide range of services, including health, utilities, construction, employment, community development, shops, roadhouses, art centres and land services. It is one of the largest and most successful Indigenous organisations in the country.

The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Ngaanyatjarra Council Group as a Senior People and Culture Advisor on a 12-month fixed-term contract, based in Perth CBD. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the organisation's strategic objectives by driving innovative and effective human resources solutions, particularly within our Health Services division. You will work closely with business leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that ensure sustainable business outcomes, while also coaching and supporting managers to enhance their people management skills, improve team motivation, and optimize overall performance. This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional with a proven track record of partnering with leadership to address key strategic people challenges.
About You:
As a Senior People and Culture Advisor, you will provide expert advice, support, and coaching to leaders on complex matters such as performance management, behavior, grievances, workplace investigations, and fitness for work. You will play a key role in helping leaders improve employee engagement, performance, productivity, and retention. Working closely with senior leaders, you will help shape the organization's people strategy and ensure it aligns with broader business goals. You will also contribute to enhancing the company's employment branding and engagement efforts, driving cultural evolution and promoting a performance-focused work environment. The role involves identifying process gaps, proposing solutions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will provide guidance on policies, procedures, employment law, and change management, while leading change efforts to improve business outcomes.
You must be able to demonstrate you have the ability to coach managers on people management and partner with business leaders to develop HR strategies for sustainable outcomes. You must have a tertiary qualification in Human Resources or significant experience in a similar role, with strong knowledge of employment legislation, compliance and best practice is essential. A sound understanding of the Health Care industry is highly valued.
