About the Role
The Senior Adviser role supports and contributes to a diverse and challenging work program aligned with the region's key strategic priorities and imperatives. Central to this role, the Adviser collaborates closely across DTP to ensure the Director and their leadership teams are well-positioned to make informed decisions and provide effective advice on various portfolio topics, focusing on problem resolution. This is achieved by offering timely analysis and advice on divisional priorities and complex matters, ensuring issues are followed through to completion.
The Senior Adviser also contributes to corporate activities such as risk management, planning, business continuity, financial management, ministerial correspondence, and reporting requirements. The role involves maintaining relationships with Directors, Department of Transport Executives, Ministerial offices, and senior leaders across the Victorian Government to support effective departmental operations and regional coordination and delivery.
Managed the group's compliance with corporate and legislative requirements, policies and standards, and participated in the development of policies, strategies and business plans and undertook corporate projects as required.
Provided authoritative and expert strategic and technical advice and support to senior executives.
Undertook research and delivered high quality and complex briefings, policy and project documents, divisional communications and presentations.
Has lead and managed a range of corporate activities including ministerial correspondence, budget and financial management and reporting, records and document management, purchasing and procurement, business planning, risk management, local IT systems support, and occupational health and safety.
Effectively contributed to the broader Division as part of the Regions Leadership Team and lead collaborative work across the Division. Managed, developed and implemented business systems and procedures which contribute to effective operation of the division's shared business service function, maximising business deliverables and outcomes, including initiating business system reviews and taking a leadership role in the development and implementation of new or enhanced business systems.
Established and maintained constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and managed a range of inquiries on the division's activities.
Promoted and supported safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.

Qualifications and Experience
