The objective of the Senior Advisor (Communication) is to deliver clear, customer-first messaging about changes on the network.Key responsibilitiesThe role of the Senior Advisor (Communication) is to develop, implement, and evaluate communication and community engagement strategies and activities to support the delivery of public transport services, changes, and initiatives.Some of your responsibilities will include:Providing expert communication and community engagement advice to project teams, including identifying and mitigating risks.Developing, implementing, and evaluating complex communication and community engagement strategies on high-profile and sometimes contentious projects to tight timeframes and within budget.Developing high-quality, tailored, and effective communication tools and content, including advertising, printed collateral, passenger information, and associated messaging.Cultivating and maintaining effective relationships with Translink's key stakeholders, including other government agencies and local councils to ensure Translink achieves its goals and objectives.Assisting, where required, the Principal Advisor and Communication Manager in managing complex and contentious issues and communication challenges.In conjunction with the Principal Advisor (Communication), supporting and coaching other team members to ensure a busy program of work is delivered to acceptable time and quality standards.About youWe recognise and celebrate that everyone is unique and seek the applicant best suited to the role.

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:Mandatory qualifications and conditions• A minimum of five years of external communications experience.Highly desirable:• Degree in Marketing Communications (or similar field).• IAP2 Public Participation certificate.Requirements of the role• Manage the development of external communication to support Translink's key public transport strategies and programs, particularly in the routine operations space.• Ability to work within a content management system and review and approve web content in line with the Translink writing style.• Strong ability to write, edit, and produce a variety of external communication materials that are of high quality, accurate, consistent, and appropriately tailored for the relevant audience and situation.• Ability to build and sustain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to leverage opportunities and ensure all parties can achieve common goals.Applications to remain current for 12 months.The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is a diverse organisation made up of more than 11,500 employees representing 80 occupational groups across Queensland.We provide reliable, resilient, and responsive transport networks and digital services that are safe and accessible for everyone.
