Job Description Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Part time Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team at a growing ASX-listed mining exploration and development company.
In this pivotal role, you'll manage day-to-day accounting, taxation, and payroll functions while working closely with the CFO to support the company's financial operations.
You'll oversee and mentor the Accounts Payable Officer, ensuring streamlined financial processes and compliance with local regulations.

Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and monthly closing processes.
Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), Pay As You Go (PAYG) withholding, and other relevant taxes.
Coordinate the company's payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable legislation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ensure all financial transactions are appropriately recorded and documented.
Provide financial support and analysis to the CFO, including preparing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including taxation and financial reporting standards.
Supervise and support the Accounts Payable Officer, ensuring timely processing of vendor invoices and payments.
Prepare Annual and Half-Year reports for release to the ASX.
Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth and efficient audits.
Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and other relevant regulations.
Monitor cash flow, manage bank reconciliations, and assist in cash forecasting.
Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by the CFO and other senior management.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA qualification highly desirable).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the mining, resources, or related industries.
Good knowledge of Australian taxation laws, payroll regulations, and accounting principles (AASB).
Proficient in using accounting software (specifically Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and a proactive, results-oriented mindset.

· CA/CPA qualification is highly preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting, taxation, and payroll, ideally within a corporate or mining industry environment.
· In-depth knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), taxation regulations, and ASX reporting requirements.
· Experience with accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, or similar).
