General Purpose The Senior Accountant will be directly responsible to the Managing Director for a significant portfolio of clients, acting as the "trusted advisor" to build meaningful and long-term relationships.
You will independently manage and delegate to a small team of accountants and administrative support, while being accountable for high-level Key Performance Indicators across your client portfolio and within your sphere of influence.
Education & Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in Australian public practiceCA/CPA qualification (preferred).
Lesser qualifications may be considered but could affect remuneration.
Commitment to achieving CA/CPA if not yet qualified is requiredExperience managing staffProven accountability for job completion, client portfolio management, and business developmentExperience working in a budget-driven environmentKnowledge of Xero & XPM is highly desirableHighly organized, with excellent written and verbal communication skillsKey Tasks & Main Responsibilities Provide expert advice across all areas of SME commerce, including accounting, tax, corporate affairs, and business analysisBuild trust with clients through your professionalism and the quality of advice providedLead, manage, and mentor a small team of accountants and administrative staffEngage in business development, strategic planning, and expansion of current services with directors/partnersAnalyze financial data and deliver business advisory servicesPrepare financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts for a range of clientsDevelop financial management reports, analyze revenues, expenses, and balance sheet itemsEstablish and monitor accounting control proceduresSupport budget and forecast activities, analyze operations, and provide strategic business recommendationsPerform complex tax computations and oversee income tax return preparationsMentor and guide graduate/trainee accountantsEssential Competencies and Attributes Positive, enthusiastic, and charismatic attitudeStrong leadership and communication skillsExperience in providing business advisory servicesExcellent planning, organizing, problem-solving, and compliance skillsWhat We Offer:
