Position Overview: We are seeking a self-motivated Intermediate Accountant to join our office. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and knowledge of MYOB, Xero, BGL, and other accounting software. This role offers support, mentoring, and opportunities for further career progression and training.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships. Prepare BAS, IAS, and annual GST returns. Reconcile bank accounts, wages, and GST. Liaise with staff, clients, and the ATO to ensure compliance and effective communication. Provide assistance and guidance to clients regarding STP, bookkeeping systems, and software implementation. Work directly with the partner on complex and challenging business and taxation matters, ensuring no two days are the same. Draft professional letters and correspondence, demonstrating strong written English skills. Qualifications: Permanent Residency in Australia. Minimum 2 years of experience in Public Practice in Australia. CA or CPA qualification. Comfortable in a client-facing role. Willingness to meet deadlines as required. Effective communication skills and good attention to detail. Quick learner and self-motivated. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
