Business Services & Corporate Advisory (Accounting) Full time The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial operations within the organisation. This position involves managing, coordinating, and supervising the finance team's daily activities, maintaining compliance with financial regulations, and supporting program managers in budget analysis. The Senior Accountant also engages in continuous improvement of financial policies and procedures, assists with annual budgeting, and manages aspects of both internal and external audits.
Responsibilities: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience in a senior finance or accounting role, including responsibility for financial management, reporting, and team coordination.Demonstrated experience supporting financial management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in compliance with relevant accounting standards.Proven ability to prepare general ledger reconciliations, conduct variance analysis, and ensure the accuracy of financial data to support audits and regulatory compliance.Advanced proficiency in accounting software and financial systems, including system administration tasks such as user management, code maintenance, and report generation.Strong understanding of compliance requirements, including BAS, PAYG, Superannuation, and ACNC reporting, with a track record of timely and accurate submissions.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex financial data accurately and efficiently.High-level proficiency in Excel and other financial reporting tools for data analysis, budgeting, and performance monitoring.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.Ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work independently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and integrity.CPA or CA qualification (or working toward).Experience working within the not-for-profit or community services sector, with a strong understanding of industry-specific financial management requirements.Familiarity with NDIS funding, financial reporting obligations, and relevant compliance standards.Employment Requirements: Current Northern Territory Driver's LicenceCurrent National Criminal History Check – completed by SomervilleWorking with Children Clearance (NT Ochre Card)NDIS Worker ScreeningNDIS Orientation ModuleCOVID-19 vaccination – with BoosterCulture and Benefits: 5 weeks annual leaveSalary packaging benefits to receive up to $15,900 of your salary tax-free.A focus on employee well-being, with regular supervision opportunities.An Employee Assistance Program offering free and confidential counselling and support.How to apply:
