Senior Academic Support OfficerJob no: 567922 Work type: Continuing Location: Melbourne (Bundoora) Categories: Administration and Executive Support, Computing Engineering & Mathematical Sciences Full Time/ Ongoing Position Available for an early January 2025 startDisplay your previous experience working in a senior administrative position, involving the provision of advice and recommendations to senior staffSalary aligned to HEO7 Salary Band / Located at our Bundoora CampusAs the Senior Academic Support Officer, you will work in collaboration with the Associate Dean, Learning and Teaching (ADLT), course and subject coordinators within the School to implement the School's operational teaching and learning workflows. The role does not replicate work expected of academic staff as outlined in academic positions descriptions.This position is located in the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematical Sciences in Melbourne (Bundoora) campus. The position sits within the School's Professional Services team but does not provide general administrative support to academic staff unless approved by the Senior Manager. The Senior Academic Support Officer will have the Academic Support Officer reporting into the position. The objective of the position is to ensure that students have an exceptional learning experience by supporting teaching administrative activities.Some of your duties will include:Provide high-level support for academic staff delivering significant administrative services, including the provision of expert advice on procedures, systems and priorities for learning and teaching activities of the School.Work collaboratively and in consultation with School academic staff and central service divisions, providing clear, consistent, and accurate learning and teaching administrative expert advice and information.Manage the Academic Support Officer performing a related set of learning and teaching administrative functions; including the allocation of responsibilities, review of performance, training and development of staff and development or oversight of program procedures, priorities and quality control systems.Independently monitor, review and develop learning and teaching related procedures in own functional area and manage administrative support for learning and teaching data collection, analysis, compliance and accreditation.Develop proposals or recommendations and provide advice to senior staff on learning and teaching program objectives.Skills and knowledge:An undergraduate degree in any area relevant to the position with at least 4 years subsequent experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.Excellent interpersonal skills, especially the capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively in teams.Demonstrated organisation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage several different projects concurrently.Demonstrated ability to form a detailed knowledge of academic and administrative policies and the interrelationships between a range of policies and activities.Highly Desirable:Understanding of University learning and teaching systems including Courseloop, LMS, timetabling, etc.How to apply:Closing date: By 11:55pm on Sunday 10th November, 2024Please submit an online application ONLY and include the following documents:A detailed Cover letter which addresses the key selection criteria.
