As the Senior Academic Research Analyst, you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of a range of research activities used to monitor and continuously improve the quality of training and assessment provided by TAFE Queensland and meet the compliance requirements associated with relevant legislation.
This position sits in the TAFE Queensland Educational Quality team within the Chief Academic Office and reports to the Manager, Product Research and Analytics.
As the Senior Academic Research Analyst, you will provide direction and support to the Academic Research Support Officer to achieve the outcomes of academic research projects undertaken.
This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity.
The position location is negotiable at any TAFE Queensland Campus, however some travel will be required across other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities Actively contribute to the planning, management and reporting of academic research activities for TAFE Queensland as defined in the Academic Survey Framework and the Product Planning and Performance Framework.Conduct academic research projects and activities, including the management of stakeholder surveys, analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, risk analysis against educational quality objectives and preparation of a range of reports for distribution to senior leaders, educational and product portfolio managers; ensuring the identified deliverables and timelines are met as per the annual Academic Research Schedule.Consult with internal and external stakeholders of TAFE Queensland regarding the implementation of academic research activities and distribute appropriate communications to inform of research project plan and status.Analyse and interpret statistical collections, such as National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) Student Outcome survey and VET activity data to provide information to internal stakeholders on the effectiveness of training provided by TAFE Queensland and employment outcomes of students.Conduct compliance surveys, and ad hoc research projects and activities, as required to evaluate the quality and performance of educational programs and initiatives and liaise with senior management regarding the outcomes.
Where appropriate, negotiate improvement plans with clients/stakeholders.Provide the statistical data to Product Leads and Product Sponsors to inform the development and review of Portfolio Product Plans and the reporting of progress against key performance measures, as per the Product Planning and Performance Framework.Work closely with the TAFE Queensland Business Intelligence team to prepare, cleanse and provide data for Academic Performance BI Dashboards and provide direction and advice on dashboard design and functionality.Provide advice to TAFE Queensland senior management and other regional stakeholders on the access and interpretation of survey data, analysis thereof and reports provided.Produce a range of associated research documents including plans, reports and briefing papers to inform the business of research outcomes and to drive the continuous improvement of the quality of training and assessment provided by TAFE Queensland.Undertake any additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by the Manager, Product Research and AnalyticsHow you will be assessed The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
Strong knowledge of research methodologies and statistical analysis, and proficiency with statistical analysis software and survey platforms.Extensive experience in a VET or higher education environment designing, developing and implementing student and employer satisfaction surveys, analysis of data and provision of reports and recommendations in a variety of formats and at the relevant level.Ability to plan and conduct academic research projects, communicate project objectives, thinking laterally to identify solutions to mitigate risk and achieve business outcomes.Proven experience in negotiating, building and sustaining productive stakeholder relationships and working collaboratively to achieve business and project outcomes.High level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts in a confident, clear and articulate manner.Displays flexibility and responsiveness and has the initiative, positive attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment .Highly Desirable Requirements An undergraduate degree or higher qualification in statistics, sociology or a related fieldHow to apply If you're interested in this role, click the 'Apply' button to submit your application via the TAFE Queensland Recruitment Portal.
