About the role: As a Security Engineer you are integral to our strategy in delivering innovative secure solutions. You will provide management, development and support to Suncorp's strategic Network Security platforms including Firewall, Proxy, Application Load balancing, Endpoint Protection, IPS, IPSec and Encryption systems.
In particular, this role will be key in managing major platform maintenance and changes, as well as a focus on project work.
You will join a team of senior engineers so we would also consider candidates who have 3+ years' experience but are passionate about this space and keen to be mentored further to grow their skill set.

What you'll do: Using your specialist expertise and oversight across Suncorp's security technologies, perform major platform maintenance/changes Identifying and building tools (self-service, automation) to help with continuous delivery, continuous development, and security based Devops (SecDevOps). Contribute and drive the development and implementation of technology strategies and roadmaps, create proposals for technology improvements Represent the relevant technology/platform within internal and external technology communities Liaise with vendors and technology specialists on new technologies Identify opportunities to optimise the Total Cost of Ownership of the team's assets. What you'll bring: At least 3 years' experience of IT Security operations Experience in maintaining and/or supporting an enterprise Information Technology environment Solid level of technical skill and experience in managing the following products:Firewalls/IPS - Palo Alto Networks Load Balancing & App Firewall – F5 Proxy Services – Netskope IPSEC B2B VPN – Cisco ASA Host Based Firewalls, IPS, AV, DLP – Trend, Crowdstrike, Airlock Knowledge of the OSI layers and good troubleshooting skills up to an application level with a proven ability to analyse packet captures Technical knowledge of enterprise level security platforms and processes Strong communication skills and a can-do attitude; team player What we can offer you: Discounts and offers on a range of retail favourite stores as well as banking and insurance products.
