Role OverviewThe role of Security Engineering Lead is to work with Tyro's internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain security controls for systems aligned with Tyro's security strategy to protect its data, applications, and infrastructure from emerging threats & vulnerabilities. You will also be responsible for managing and driving an exceptional team of security engineers who will assist you in delivering Tyro's security vision and strategy.
You will provide strategic, operational, and tactical guidance to your team and manage day-to-day security operational activities. Additionally, you will need to provide hands-on technical expertise and advice across various areas of security technology including Endpoint Security, Cloud Security, Identity and Access Management systems, Application Security, Data Loss Prevention, and Vulnerability Management.
The role is expected to divide the work week as follows:

What you'll do:Provide Security and Technical leadership with metrics, insights, and guidance on security operational activities.Drive and own conversations with technical and business stakeholders on ensuring Tyro is able to deliver on its strategy and commitment to stakeholders.End-to-end deployment and management of enterprise class security services for our customer and corporate environments in the cloud and on-premise.Operating centralized security controls that are highly efficient through automation and provide self-service solutions to other technology teams.Subject Matter Expert and advanced technical support for issues related to the systems you help build and deploy.Be a key contributor in team planning and prioritization sessions.Uphold and contribute to Tyro's strong risk culture by complying with our policies, completing mandatory training, and identifying and managing risks within your day-to-day work.What you'll bring:Leadership abilities to develop, manage, and drive a high-performing team. Exceptional stakeholder management and ability to develop and implement security capabilities across various business functions.Ability to prioritize and make risk-based decisions in day-to-day activities.Coding/scripting skills in Powershell, Bash, Python, and Terraform.Hands-on experience with securing a hybrid cloud environment, with a mixture of on-premise, multi-cloud providers, and container platforms.Demonstrated experience in development and implementation in some of the following domains: Endpoint Security, Zero Trust Network Access, Cloud Security Posture Management, Data Protection, Identity and Access Management, Vulnerability Management.Common certifications include CISSP, GIAC, ITIL, SANS, CEH, CISM, CCSP, CISA, GCFA, Security+, AWS SAA, AWS DA, and GCIH.Perks & Benefits:We offer some amazing employee benefits such as a flexible working environment with a mix of in-office and remote working, learning & development opportunities for professional and personal development, 16 weeks paid primary carer's leave, 12 weeks paid secondary carer's leave, annual team-based volunteer day, novated leasing, social events which include multiple craft beer kegs (selection of beers carefully selected by our beer connoisseurs), a wide selection of wine, variety of snacks, and a ping pong table, selection of board and video games, and many more!
