Section Supervisors at Tasmanian Berries

Tasmanian Berries are looking for people for the 2024 Harvest season.

We require 5 full-time staff working a minimum 38 hours a week. Successful applicants will work across both our Maintenance Sector teams commencing September 2024 for ongoing work. The work will be based at the following farm:
9 Christmas Hills Road, Elizabeth Town, TAS, 7304
284 Exton Road, Exton, TAS, 7303
Work will be primarily Supervising the Farm Maintenance Teams.

The duties of the work will include but are not limited to:
Coordinating And Controlling The Maintenance Teams, Including: Ensure accurate daily task load of the team.
Maintain accurate records and orders.
Working with transport to ensure timely delivery of products.
Assist with completion of all necessary documentation to meet statutory requirements.
Work with the safety and quality teams to meet required safety and quality standards.
Assign tasks to maximise the workers in an appropriate manner.
Applicants Must: Be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Be fit and healthy; not be colour blind or vision impaired (as the role requires employees to pick berries at specific stages of ripeness).
Be able to multi-task with attention to detail.
Be able to acquire good speed and to learn manual tasks.
Be able to follow instructions, learn and apply new processes quickly.
Be able to work in a team environment.
When Supervisor work is conducted, it will be paid as an hourly rate, all work is performed under the Horticulture Award 2020 Level 2 or Level 3 and the rate will range between $24.10 and $24.76 per hour, depending on role and experience. Upskilling and additional allowances may also be paid if you are trained in extra tasks, machinery operating or first aid.
When Farm work is conducted, it will be paid as an hourly rate, all work is performed under the Horticulture Award 2020 Level 1 and the minimum rate is $23.46 per hour. Upskilling and additional allowances may also be paid if you are trained in extra tasks, leading hand or first aid. Farm Management will advise if the work you are doing is not considered to be supervisory.
When picking, we pay by the weight of fruit picked and packed to the standard required; rates do fluctuate depending on the crop situation. The minimum rate for the average competent worker is $26.98 per hour based on Level 1.
Hours worked will generally be Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm. Weekend work may occasionally be required.
