Section 26 Transfer Opportunity: APS5 Program Manager, Inclusion and Diversity Section Section 26 Transfer Opportunity: APS5 Program Manager, Inclusion and Diversity Section Ongoing / Non-ongoing $86,419 to $92,345 per annum + 15.4% employer super contribution Canberra-based role

The Program Manager coordinates professional development scholarships and training programs for First Nations staff and staff with Disability, as well as the department's participation in the Jawun Secondment Program. 
Facilitating end-to-end management of each program, this role prepares department-wide advertising, coordinates nominations and assessment panels, provides pastoral care to participants during their program engagement and manages the relationships with external program organisations. Working closely with previous participants and alumni, this role seeks ways to captialise return-on-investment for the department and promote each program through information sessions.
This is an Identified Position requiring knowledge of and ability to work with First Nations people. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of issues affecting First Nations peoples and proven culturally appropriate engagement and communication skills. The position is open to everyone.
Key Duties 
Key duties may include:

Facilitate end-to-end management of the department's scholarships and training programs for First Nations staff and staff with Disability: Sir Roland Wilson / Pat Turner Scholarship Program; NIAA Anu Management Program; International Skills Development Program; Lowy Institute Fellowship; Griffith University Bursary; and Jawun Secondment Program / Executive Visit (open to all APS6+ staff). Prepare and publish communications advertising programs and outcomes. Coordinate program application assessment panels. Provide pastoral care to participants during each program. Manage program payments and invoices to ensure on-time payments within budget. Managing return-on-investment: Identify ways for the department to utilise the skills and experience gained by participants to enhance the departments cultural understanding and practices.  Working with the Assistant Director DLS to review and finalise formal and legal agreements for programs. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience as a program manager and the ability to engage meaningfully and sensitively with applicants and external stakeholders. You will have strong interpersonal skills, work well in a team environment and be able to liaise effectively across the division, department, broader Australian Government, and private industry. 
You will understand the issues affecting First Nation peoples, and an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with First Nations peoples. As an Identified position working with First Nations people, policy and programs, candidates must also demonstrate:
