About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity is available for a dedicated Japanese LOTE teacher to become part of a community-oriented school in Williamstown/Altona from Term 1, 2025 in a part-time capacity (0.6- 3 days a week).
With approximately 1000 students spanning from Foundation to Year 12 across three campuses, this school offers an excellent chance to be part of a vibrant educational community. Key Duties: Develop age-appropriate and engaging curriculum plans that align with the Victorian Curriculum for Secondary levels.Deliver effective and interactive Japanese LOTE instruction, focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation, and language structures.Introduce aspects of Japanese culture into lessons through age-appropriate activities, stories, and projects to foster cultural awareness.Design assessments to evaluate language acquisition and provide constructive feedback to students.Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate Japanese language and culture into broader educational themes and projects.Stay informed about developments in language education, attend workshops, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and methodologies.Skills & Experience: Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.Current VIT registration.Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Japanese LOTE.Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).Offering: Teaching Japanese LOTE to students in years 7-10.Work across campuses in Altona and Newport.Join a school community that is actively growing and evolving.Commencement from Term 1, 2025.Part-time 0.6- 3 days.Receiving a salary commensurate with your demonstrated expertise, within the range of $75,000 to $115,000 (FT).The School: Three large campuses, within Williamstown, Newport, and Altona North.Approachable management team and smaller team structures.Well-respected school within the local community.Collaborative planning model with professional development opportunities.How to Apply: To apply, follow the link provided or apply on our website.
