About the Role:
Are you a passionate Education Support with experience in Sport/VET Sport and or Education Support experience, eager to make a real impact on students' lives?
Tradewind is partnering with a college that collaborates with Youth Justice Precincts and Secure Care Units in Melbourne's West. Starting in 2025, you'll have the opportunity to work within a class setting with students aged 15-18 in small classes, benefiting from excellent teacher support and well-being initiatives. This role would involve assisting the classroom VET Sport teacher within the classroom.
The goal is to provide high-quality education tailored to the needs of young people in custody, in collaboration with the Department of Justice and Community Safety, as well as the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.

Key duties: Provide support during practical sport-related activities, ensuring students engage safely and effectively.Help set up and manage equipment, ensuring it's appropriate for the day's activities and aligned with the curriculum requirements.Work alongside VET Sport teachers to support students in understanding theoretical concepts and applying them during practical sessions.Provide feedback to both students and teachers on areas of improvement or success.Help in preparing resources, worksheets, or instructional materials for both theoretical and practical lessons.Work with other school staff to ensure that students' emotional and physical needs are met, especially when they participate in physical activities.Skills & Experience: Must have unrestricted working rights in AustraliaCurrent Working With Children Check CardEducation Support Certification (minimum Cert. To support staff, the College has integrated wellbeing programs that address the stresses of teaching. Teachers meet biweekly in wellbeing groups led by a clinician and can access individual sessions with the wellbeing team. Self-care plans are also developed to help mitigate stress and prevent burnout.
