YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE Full Time Ongoing Role.
The Molecular Pathology Laboratory in the Department of Pathology is looking for a Grade 1 Analyst to join our team to help support the molecular diagnostic services.
The permanent full-time dry lab position presents an exciting opportunity to join our team of curation and reporting scientists within the Solid Tumour Molecular Oncology team to help guide patient care.
Suitable candidates will be highly motivated, detail orientated and self-driven, and possess a minimum science qualification in genetics and molecular biology or genome analysis.
Previous experience in cancer oncology data analysis, interpreting variant classifications and reporting in an accredited Diagnostic Molecular Pathology/Genetics is an advantage.
Victorian Department of Health has a program of reforms across the public pathology system in Victoria.
As part of these reforms, the pathology services from the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Women's Hospital and the Royal Children's Hospital are being considered for transition to a new style of service within Local Area Networks.
The new model for delivering public pathology services will present an exciting opportunity to improve the scope, scale and reach of pathology services and testing capability to all Victorians.
As this role is with Parkville , the successful candidate for this role will be initially employed by Parkville.
However, this position and the successful candidate's employment (including terms and conditions of employment) may be subject to a transition as part of this reform agenda.
