Play a crucial role in safeguarding public health by conducting cutting-edge water quality analyses and sample collection for the City of Gold Coast!Responsibilities include:Conduct timely and accurate sampling of potable water, wastewater, and effluent, adhering to NATA accreditation standards.Assist in collecting landfill and groundwater samples while contributing to vital environmental monitoring programs.Perform diverse analyses, including dissolved oxygen, chlorine levels, pH, turbidity, and microbiological assessments, both in the lab and in the field.Utilize the LIMS database for data entry, scheduling, and reporting, ensuring precision in your work.Collaborate closely with Senior Scientific Officers while taking on a leadership role by training and supervising junior staff.Maintain and calibrate equipment and prepare reagents, all in compliance with national accreditation guidelines.Build strong relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring top-notch service and support.We're looking for people who have:Bachelor Degree of Science or equivalent knowledge.Driver's License (C class).Proficiency in water and wastewater analysis methods.Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform precise and accurate testing, data entry, and reporting.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.A collaborative mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive work environment.Flexibility to perform fieldwork and adapt to changing priorities and workflows as needed.Familiarity with NATA accreditation requirements and national safety standards.Be part of shaping the Gold Coast's future.The Gold Coast is inspired by lifestyle and driven by opportunity.
