Full-time PermanentDetails: Telopea Park School is a highly dynamic K-10 binational (French Australian) school which operates as a bilingual school under a binational treaty. There are currently 572 students in K-6. Telopea Park School has Australian teachers who deliver the Australian curriculum in English and work alongside French colleagues who deliver the French curriculum in French. There is not an expectation for Australian staff to speak French to teach at Telopea Park School. All staff work collaboratively to deliver the binational curriculum. Our school has a strong focus on inquiry learning and utilising data to inform pedagogy to improve student outcomes. To strengthen student connectedness to the school community.Improve student growth in Literacy.Improve student growth in Numeracy.Position Description: We are seeking a dynamic School Leader C (SLC) to lead the 4-6 team in the Primary School (Years K-6) in the delivery of the Australian Curriculum and facilitation of the binational curriculum. The SLC works collaboratively with all executive members of staff and requires a strong commitment to understand the complexity of this unique educational setting. The leader of the Years 4-6 Primary Team needs to take an active coaching role across a diversely experienced group of French and Australian educators. While the ability to communicate in both French and English would be beneficial, it is not essential.
Key Responsibilities: Leading K-6 Assessment and Reporting as a Primary School responsibility including binational curriculum implementation and renewal: pedagogy; differentiation, assessment; moderation; and reporting.Leading K-6 Numeracy and EAL/D in collaboration with the leadership team as a Primary School responsibility.Leading highly effective Years 4-6 teaching teams to improve student academic and wellbeing outcomes.Leading staff to use multiple sources of data to inform pedagogy and strengthen professional learning community practices.Contributing to the development and achievement of whole school strategic goals and leading student-centred improvement initiatives within this binational context.We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.
