Summary
St. Margaret's School (SMS) is Western Canada's only girl-centered, independent day and boarding school located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada on the unceded traditional territories of the Esquimalt Nations, Songhees Nations, and W_SÁNEC Nations. Founded in 1908, SMS is an international centre for girl-centered learning and leadership development, providing empowering education for girls from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 (boarding grades 7–12).  St. Margaret's School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) School offering the Diploma Program.
Reporting to and working closely with the Creative Director, the School Assistant Videographer and Photographer is responsible for capturing high-quality video and photographic content that showcases the school's events, activities, and daily life. This role involves working closely with the school administration, faculty, and students to create engaging visual content that supports the school's communication, marketing, and archival needs.

Video Production:Capture video footage of school events, activities, and daily operations.Edit videos to create polished final products for various platforms including the school's website, social media, and internal communications.Photography:Take high-quality photographs of school events, students, staff, and the campus.Edit and retouch photographs to ensure high visual standards.Organize and maintain a digital archive of photographic content.Content Management:Maintain an organized library of video and photographic content.Ensure that all visual content is properly tagged and stored for easy retrieval.Collaborate with the Creative Director on the alumni newsletter.Collaboration:Work closely with the Creative Director regarding the scheduling and planning of video and photo shoots.Technical Skills:Operate video and photography equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio gear.Utilize editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom) to produce high-quality content.Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in video production and photography.Required Education & Experience
A degree or diploma in Videography, Photography, Multimedia, Communications, or a related field is preferred.Proven experience in videography and photography, preferably in an educational or similar environment.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong portfolio demonstrating ability in capturing and editing video and photographic content.Proficiency in video and photo editing software.Strong understanding of composition, lighting, and camera operation.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Creativity and attention to detail.Actively supports the vision, mission, and values of our school.Additional Requirements:
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends to cover school events.Physical ability to carry and set up equipment as needed.Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in a school environment, with frequent movement between classrooms, offices, and outdoor locations.The role may involve standing for extended periods and handling heavy equipment.Valued Benefits
