We are seeking a highly motivated Health Manager to work with the dynamic Clinical Governance Unit team for the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN). This is a full-time, permanent position.
The position will support continuous improvement of clinical practice and health care delivery and provide high level advice to the Director of Safety, Quality and Governance and Executive leadership team on the extent to which compliance with governance, quality and safety standards are being achieved. The position requires highly developed analytical, leadership and project management skills, and an ability to work with a high degree of autonomy reflecting the level of experience and expertise required.

Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is the largest paediatric health entity in Australia, with a team of 5,000 staff committed to providing world-class paediatric health care in a family-focused, healing environment. The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network incorporates The Children's Hospital at Westmead (CHW), Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick (SCH); Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS); Bear Cottage and Children's Court Clinic.
Both The Children's Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick provide care for over 120,000 families each year, incorporating 50,000 inpatient admissions, 90,000 emergency presentations and over 1 million outpatient services.
What you'll be doing
Provide strategic advice, leadership and management in relation to quality portfolio and activities, ensuring the development, implementation, monitoring and support for the Sydney Children's Hospitals Networks (SCHN) Clinical Governance Framework and the NSW Health Safety Systems model and Clinical Excellence Commission's (CEC) Safety & Quality Essentials Pathway Program.
Engender a culture of continuous improvement to ensure Clinical Governance outcomes are achieved through education, leadership and support key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, in quality improvement activities.
Tertiary qualification in a health discipline or extensive experience in clinical quality, safety and clinical governance in tertiary health facilities or a combination of both.Demonstrated leadership experience including the ability to lead, persuade, motivate, and influence key stakeholders at all levels within an organisation, in clinical quality initiatives.Demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills, with an ability to take initiative to effectively manage complex projects concurrently whilst effectively meeting project deliverables and milestones in collaboration with clinical staff in a high volume, complex work environment.Experience in the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and working knowledge of Accreditation processes and the application and monitoring of the National Standards, including the ability to analyse data and information, to develop and monitor improvement plans.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including demonstrated comprehensive report writing, including preparation of reports to governing bodies and/or senior management, presentations whilst consulting with a wide range of diverse stakeholders.Experience in facilitating group training/education sessions in workshop settings.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of adult learning principles and a demonstrated ability to needs assess, plan, develop, implement, evaluate, and monitor quality and patient safety educational activities.SCHN is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values diversity - we acknowledge the vibrancy that a diverse workforce brings to enhance both our workplace culture and our service delivery to children, young people and their families and carers.
