The Role
Are you looking for an opportunity in a challenging and highly complex enterprise? An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Scheduler to join the new Space Domain Awareness and Control Systems Program Office and work on projects and products including Space 9358 and 9360. SPA9360 will deliver the next generation Space domain Awareness capabilities, including the Deep-space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

The Senior Scheduler will be responsible for liaising with all levels of CoA project team and the wider stakeholder community as well as with Defence. The position requires knowledge and appropriate experience in the management of complex Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), the development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and WBS dictionaries, and the integration and ongoing management of Contract Master Schedules into CoA IMS.

About our Team
Space Domain Awareness and Control Systems Program Office (SDACSPO) organisationally sits in the Space Systems Branch, under Air Defence and Space Systems Division in CASG. The Systems Program Office manages Space Domain Awareness and Control in-service capabilities and capabilities in acquisition, engaging with local, regional and international enterprise partners and suppliers, consisting of both foreign governments and industry, to provide support to the Capability Manager. This demands a strong understanding of domestic and international space domain government frameworks and controls within the team.

The SDACSPO team comprises professionals from various disciplines including project management, engineering, commercial, and logistics. This multi-disciplinary team is composed of highly skilled and motivated Australian Public Service, Australian Defence Force and contracted personnel. The team works from offices at Defence Science and Technology Edinburgh in Adelaide and maintains close collaboration with other parts of Defence and other Government Agencies.

The EL 1 Senior Scheduler will work within the Business Management Unit reporting to the Director Business Management. Of critical importance is that Space capabilities play a significant role in safeguarding national security, which means this domain is equally as important as the maritime, land, air and domains. Capabilities in space are critical enablers of military operations, supporting communications, targeting and situational awareness. The EL1 Senior Scheduler will provide superior scheduling support across acquisition and sustainment activities to facilitate the timely delivery of critical Space capabilities.

Our Ideal Candidate
SDACSPO is seeking a highly motivated Senior Scheduler interested in delivering strategically significant capability to the ADF.

The ideal candidate will be responsive and enthusiastic with strong self-initiative and be suited to working as part of a large cohesive team and with Industry. They will also need extensive experience in developing and managing ACAT 1 CoA Schedules, with excellent attention to detail.

Key attributes: High level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative with the ability to influence others to achieve results and business objectives.Excellent communication and customer engagement skills with the ability to negotiate and build relationships with stakeholders.Knowledge and experience in Open Plan Professional, Visio, Photoshop, Excel and the Microsoft suite of tools.Accountable to ensure project control practices and procedures are developed and applied to projects and programs.Knowledge and/or experience in developing project and program briefs, reports and documentation using a range of tools and techniques.
