The Salesforce Developer is responsible for implementing, testing, and deploying solutions both within Salesforce and in surrounding systems. Part of the role includes configuring Salesforce and ensuring that changes in both code and configuration are managed in source control and well tested before being deployed to production.
A Salesforce Developer works within a team, taking direction from both the ETL and the Product Manager.
Key accountabilities Configure Salesforce objects, fields, page layouts, record types, and validation rules to meet business requirements.Delivering well-tested solutions into the Salesforce ecosystem including integrations with other systems.Engage in architectural and design discussions with the development team, business analysts, and other stakeholders.Provide input on the feasibility and complexity of proposed solutions, offering alternative approaches when necessary.Ensure that designs align with overall business goals and Salesforce best practices.Breaking work down into tasks and maintain accurate work progress in Jira.Collaborate with team members during sprint planning and backlog refinement sessions to break down user stories into manageable tasks.Contribute to solution design sessions, ensuring that technical specifications meet business needs and adhere to Salesforce standards.Writing, executing, and maintaining unit and integration tests.Write and maintain documentation around solutions and Architectural Decision Records (ADRs).Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.Collaborate with Salesforce Administrators and other stakeholders to validate requirements.Mandatory skills, knowledge, and experienceExperience writing Apex classes and triggers.Familiar with Salesforce Lightning Design System and SFDX.Strong business analysis and functional experience, including requirements gathering, creating solutions, and/or deploying solutions to end users.Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.Strong verbal and written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.Understanding of and experience with Salesforce architecture and API.Experience using GitHub or other version control software.Experience integrating Salesforce with other applications.
