The Role
You will join an energetic and passionate Sales team who are responsible for relationship building, successful conversion, and coordination of successful events and groups for existing clients, with a keen focus to generate future business from existing and potential acquisition clients.
Please be aware that this is a parental leave cover role for at least 12 months. Day to Day Conducting qualifying communications, written and verbalActively follow up on proposalsIssuing contracts for secured bookings and following up depositsMaintaining comprehensive, accurate and systematic file notes in DelphiPresenting benefit-focused site inspections and follow-up communicationsSupplying contracts to clients, and following up as needed to secure a signed contract and depositNegotiating contract Terms and Conditions to meet client requirementsMonitoring business leads and maintaining timely follow-up with a goal to confirm existing leadsActively pursuing market intelligence and potential business on an ongoing basis for revenue developmentMaintaining the Envision system, tracing and prospecting both previous clients and potential clients to secure bookings for future eventsWhat we are looking for? Ideally with a relevant degree, apprenticeship, or diploma in Hospitality or restaurant managementPrevious experience within a five-star hotel or deluxe meeting venueExtensive knowledge of event service operationsAbility to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customersComputer skills in MS Office and Outlook essential; Opera/Envision EMS/RESERVE are desiredPrevious reservation/Front Office experience would be advantageousMUST have an unrestricted working visa for Australia.QualificationsCulture At Grand Hyatt Melbourne, we embody our brand promise of delivering Moments of More by offering challenging and rewarding careers that are more than just your typical job.
