For more information, visit About the role: The Sales Engineer will work closely alongside the APAC Account Executive to qualify and help close opportunities with new prospects and to upsell existing customers.
We are looking for a talented engineer with excellent customer-facing, technical, and organizational skills.
Previous experience in enterprise software sales is desirable.
The Software Sales Engineer gets excited talking technology to all audiences and providing hands-on technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, and supporting Proofs of Concepts/Evaluations.
What you will do: Support the Babel Street product pre-sales team, working closely with the sales organization globally.
Convey technical information in and out of the field, securing mission success for customers.
Directly support the attainment of company sales targets.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with field account executives to manage and close new and existing software sales pipeline.
Deliver focused software and solution demonstrations, across the range of Babel Street capabilities, to audiences at all levels from developer to C-suite.
Technical account management with existing customers, as well as delivery of hands-on technical training to prospects and existing customers.
Provide direct input to the product team to help prioritize features based on input from prospects, customers, and partners, as well as your own competitive research and knowledge.
Assist with detailed project scoping for prospective clients.
Facilitate renewals and upsells with your assigned clients, including fully supporting the contracting requirements.
Travel as required, at least several times per year, generally during the business week.
What you will bring: Experience in commercial software pre-sales and business development, with a focus on solutions sales experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage across a broad range of stakeholder levels.
Bachelor's degree to include three (3) years of experience in any research, intelligence, or threat analysis position is desirable.
2+ years as a successful Pre-Sales Engineer or 2+ years in a Sales Engineering role that is client-facing and involves sales scenarios.
Demonstrate ability to quickly learn new computer systems, languages, and environments.
Experience working in an OSINT field and using analytical tools is desirable.
Ability to handle complex issues and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
Understanding of MS Office and accounting management tools like SFDC or equivalent CRM systems are important.
Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
Ability to operate autonomously as needed with a 'self-starter' approach.
