The team ensures our rail network operates smoothly across various systems and regions, helping to create a standardised operating environment.
This helps increase efficiencies for rail operators, making our network more reliable and cost-effective.
About the Opportunity The primary purpose of the role is to support the planning, consultation, delivery, development integration and ongoing maintenance of the Safety Systems.
This will include understanding ARTC's safety objectives outcomes and requirements under work health and safety law and rail safety national law to develop, draft and implement processes and procedures that are in alignment with the integration of the SMS.
Support the leaders and frontline teams by providing expert services, support and assurance for the effective implementation of ARTC's safety management systems.
The goal is to enhance safety outcomes, promoting ownership of safety culture, reduce operational risks and ensure compliance with ARTC's policies and legislation.
Develop work health and safety products (including documentation and training tools to interface with learning and development) that support and improve the organisation's safety management system.
Align and integrate the Safety Management System to the overall IMS architecture and manage, develop, prioritize and recommend initiatives to improve and build upon the data architecture of the SMS to support the business.
What do we want from you?
Relevant tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety or related discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
Experience in management system certification and accreditation regarding rail and WHS.
Industry knowledge of systems and reporting and ability to apply this to role.
Experience in development and management of safety systems and procedural development.
Excellent critical thinking, and process and system analysis skills, including the ability to identify opportunities for workflow and system improvements and design/implement effectively.
Practical knowledge of Rail Safety, Heavy Vehicle National Law, WHS and environmental legislation and local/international standards.
Sound knowledge of process and procedures related to risk management and change management.
Highly developed problem resolution and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships to identify opportunities, resolve problems, and deliver on organisational outcomes.
