About the role We have a newly created full-time Safety Manager role for our Rail business based at our Keswick terminal. Suitable for an experienced safety manager or a developing safety professional looking for the next step in their career, key responsibilities will include;
Partnering with the business to educate Managers and Supervisors on risk and workplace safety and enhance the safety-focused cultureOversee the implementation, review and continuous improvement of the safety management system for Rail inclusive of policies, procedures, SOPs and related documents.Ensure compliance with good industry practice, State and Federal legislation, regulations and standards.Provide subject matter expertise, supported by external experts as required, to Rail leadership and other stakeholders as applicable.Manage a team of two Safety Coordinators, and work closely with peers in the Rail Operations and Safety team and more broadly across Rail division.Work with the Corporate Safety group to align safety and risk policy, practice and reporting where applicable.Oversee the development, implementation and review of the framework of Safety policy, and procedures, including Rail Safety, HSE, and all other aspects of running a safe tourism rail operation.Coordinate the Rail business risk register and review operational risk registers and risk assessments.Oversee the operation of the systems and programs for Internal Audits, Inspections, Non-Conformances, Hazard and Incident Reporting including monitoring the effectiveness of these systems.Conduct an annual management review of the system and provide recommendations for improvement.Coordinate safety reporting including but not limited to monthly executive reporting, Management Safety Committee, Advisory Risk and Safety Committee, the Annual Safety Performance Report and ONRSR reporting.About You To be suitable for this role, the following is required:
