About the role

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Lead to join our team. This role will be instrumental in sourcing, developing and implementing a state of the art Safety Management System that will assist in the delivery of our safety strategy.
Reporting to the Group People and Culture Manager the Safety, Health & Environment Lead will partner with the business on all things safety. It is a rewarding role where you will have the autonomy to make decisions, drive change and have a positive impact on the safety culture of the business on a daily basis.

Day to day you will:
Work collaboratively with Operational Leaders to manage hazards, incidents and injuries in the workplace and off site where required Address safety needs across the Group and coordinate with supervisors to boost overall SHE awareness Use a collaborative approach to drive, improve and maintain the Company's safety culture Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly safety responsibilities are completed across all departments and that all legislative requirements are met Manage the organisational safety framework for the Northeast Automotive Group, including all associated policy and procedure updates Conduct site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with SHE policies and procedures Ensure safety systems and processes are clearly understood and implemented by all staff Provide feedback, coaching and advice to employees on safe working procedures Undertake risk assessments and develop tactical plans to mitigate and reduce risk Conduct health and safety training initiatives to increase awareness and technical health and safety knowledge at all levels of the business Manage Safety Systems and associated reporting requirements Steer and facilitate incident investigations, examine findings and make recommendations
  Please note regular travel within SA and interstate will be required for this role.
About You:
You are an experienced, passionate, and motivated Safety professional. You thrive in environments where you are empowered to take ownership for the delivery of the safety strategy and are committed to continuously driving a positive safety culture.
You have highly developed communication skills and can collaborate effectively with all types of people. You understand that credibility, trust, and respect are critical to driving cultural change, and your relationship building skills are key to your success in doing this. You are resilient and tenacious, and bring a positive, never-give-up attitude.
What we want to see on your resume:
Experience working in a similar role in a high-risk environment (e.g., heavy industry, civil construction, mining, engineering etc.) Experience in Injury Management and RTW, supported with a RTW Certificate (highly desirable) Qualifications in Work Health and Safety (desirable) Experience in the customization and delivery of cutting edge WHS Management Systems across multiple complex business units(highly regarded)  Our Company Established in 1995, the Northeast Auto Group are a national award-winning automotive retail and service organisation who employ over 500 people in South Australia, Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales.
