ABOUT THE ROLE The Safety Compliance Specialist is pivotal in ensuring our workplace complies with occupational health and safety regulations and maintains high safety standards.
This role involves developing and managing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and leading incident investigations to address root causes and create corrective action plans.

The Safety Compliance Specialist will engage with team members at all levels across the organisation and conduct regular site visits to complete audits and inspections.
Additionally, you will deliver safety training, fostering a positive and proactive safety culture.
You will maintain the safety management system to ensure data accuracy and up-to-date reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
This role is essential for upholding our commitment to service excellence and continuous safety improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring thorough documentation as well as the completion of investigation methods such as root cause analysis, ICAM & 5 Why's.
Assist in developing and communicating OH&S policies and procedures to all team members.
Deliver and develop safety training programs to team members at all levels.
Maintain the safety management system, ensuring it is up to date, user-friendly and aligned with compliance requirements.
Train and support team members in reporting incidents, hazards and near misses.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to ensure the company's safety practices meet or exceed compliance standards.
Track and analyze safety performance metrics, prepare reports for management and recommend improvements to enhance overall safety compliance.
Promote a strong safety culture within the organization, encouraging proactive safety behavior and compliance among all team members.
Maintain and update training records, ensuring all team members receive the necessary safety training.
Provide training and certification where qualified to do so.
Undertake other tasks or responsibilities that may be asked of you from time to time.
Commit to being safe, working safely, and returning home safe and well each day.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations & act, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and develop effective safety programmes.
Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, identifying hazards, and implementing risk controls and mitigation strategies to prevent incidents, non-compliance, and injuries.
Experience in conducting thorough incident investigations, analysing root causes, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent future incidents.
Ability to develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programmes to educate team members on safety protocols, procedures, and regulations.
Maintain the safety management system, ensuring data is up-to-date and accurate.
Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and address safety concerns.
Proficient in conducting safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, ensure compliance, and implement appropriate risk control strategies and corrective measures.
Ensure all hazards and near misses are immediately reported via the safety management system and hazard booklet.
Lead by example and commit to working safely to ensure the safety of all team members, including site contractors, customers, and community members.
